Building and Marketing a Brand
Seadragon has been involved in helping to establish the Chuck the Eco Duck brand since the property’s conception in the summer of 2008.
We achieved early PR, provided consultancy on the property’s branding development strategy, produced marketing materials, carried out market research, contributed to the business plan, identified business opportunities, and designed a multi-media website to showcase the brand’s progress.
This adventurous and eco-friendly character has already caused a stir in the world of children’s entertainment. To date, the Chuck stories have been produced as a 14-part audio series broadcast regularly on Fun Kids Live, as well as thirteen TV episodes, plus a picture book.
Seadragon is now playing a key role in building Chuck into a brand that works across all types of media, including books, TV, and the education sector. We have already helped the brand achieve notable exposure, including establishing a ‘Chuck soft play area’ at Ironbridge Gorge Museum. An educational software package is due to be developed by a leading international animation company, and due to be distributed this year.
Along with these licensing benchmarks, our market research shows that the brand’s themes of loving your world and caring for everyone and everything in it have captured the imagination of children, parents, teachers, as well as strategic brand partners. This kind of research is an important tool in demonstrating the brand’s value.
From hereon in, Seadragon will be ensuring the brand harnesses an integrated marketing and PR strategy during its development period, so that Chuck can reach a wide-ranging audience across all its target platforms including broadcasters, publishers, educational partners, software developers and of course children, parents and guardians.
The brand’s concept is now so strong that it can easily be adapted to suit any medium: animation, apps, audio, books, clothing, games, software, stationery, toys and merchandise of all kinds – as well as designed to suit any purpose: entertainment, education, promoting relevant causes and sponsorship opportunities. Seadragon will be helping to build the brand in all these directions.
